Alcona Varsity Cheer had a once in a lifetime experience cheering on the Broncos at Waldo Stadium Saturday! The Broncos didn't disappoint either...trampling Georgia State 57-10. From practicing with university level cheer and dance teams on an indoor turf to performing on the real thing in front of 22,000+ people complete with fireworks, a marching band the size of our school and flaming baton tossing...we couldn't have asked for more!

Teachers at the Elementary participated in professional development around classroom libraries today. The day ended with each teacher receiving between 80-100 new books to add to their classroom libraries. We can’t wait for our students to share in the excitement! A special thanks to the Alcona Elementary PTO for their donation of about 20 books per class, and to Mr. O’Connor and Mr. Lee for supporting the purchase of the remaining books. What a fun day!!
