Alcona 2nd graders wrapped up their "Great Lakes Birds, Great Student Stewards" project at Harrisville State Park. They learned about migration, identified bird species, cleaned up the campground and removed 18lbs of invasive spotted knapweed. Thanks to our partners: MiDNR and the Northeastern Michigan Great Lakes Stewardship Initiative (NEMIGLSI).

This last Friday, the Intro to Business and Marketing class presented their trucks for the 1st Annual Food Truck Wars! The project wrapped up their semester of learning on the 4Ps of Marketing (Product, Promotion, Place, & Price).

The Varsity track team competed at the Standish Sterling Invitational today. After a brief weather delay, the girls walked away in third place and the boys took home second place. Many medals were won. Congratulations to all!

At practice tonight, I handed out the medals earned at The Fairview MS Track Invitational last night. The athletes were very excited when the realized that every single kid earned at least 1 medal in competition! Way to go Tigers!! Super proud of their growth and effort.

Seniors!! Remember that Friday May 24th (next Friday) is going to be a senior skills day. There will be a self defense class, lunch provided by the Air Force, and a short presentation by the Credit Union about services you can take advantage of whether you're staying in town or moving away for college. If you are NOT able to attend, drop Mrs. VK a note by May 12th so we can an accurate number count. Last year's seniors are invited to attend IF you let Mrs. VK know you're coming by Wed May 12th.
