Hello Alcona families! Reminder that Monday, May 17th students will not be in session, it is a professional development day for staff.

So it’s never too early to talk about Alcona Wrestling. After receiving a grants from Community Foundation of North East Michigan (CFNEM) and Community Impact Grant from North East Michigan Youth Advisory Council (NEMYAC) We are exited to show the uniforms that were purchased with the grant money and look forward to next year showing them off. Kids look great in them and are exited about next season.

Alcona MS Girls won 1st place in the WP invite tonight! The boys team took 2nd place! Both teams did amazing! Go Tigers!!


"Once in a lifetime" was the experience for Alcona 3rd graders as they released their threatened lake sturgeon, Hunter, back into the Black river today. Students talked with MSU biologists and Sturgeon for Tomorrow volunteers while seeing the adult fish spawning in the river.

Alcona High School surveyed students and found significant interest in starting a "gaming club" playing competitive Rocket League. The team would consist of 5-10 players and meet 2-3 days a week. The state-wide league has a fall and spring seasons. We are looking for an experienced gaming person to serve as a coach for the students.

Reminder about SAT Testing: Juniors will be taking the SAT on Tuesday, May 18. Students should arrive on time to school! Online students may come into the school to test but are not required by the state.

Varsity Boys and Girls both placed first in their track meet at Whittemore Prescott today. Many personal and seasonal records were set. Congratulations to all.

Thursday's Softball game has swapped from @ Rogers City to now @ AuGres at 5:00 PM.
The make up date with Rogers City will be 5/26 @ Rogers City at 4:00PM.
Baseball will remain in Rogers City as scheduled for 4:00 PM.
