Alcona 3rd grade student stewards have been busy all year raising a threatened lake sturgeon for release in the wild this spring. They have affectionately named him Hunter. Students have been learning about life cycles, cultural history and biology of this species along with feeding, weighing and maintaining a healthy ecosystem for our fish.
