
ACS is excited to announce senior Kaitlyn Brozowski placed 1st in The Aux Sables Chapter Dar Good Citizens Program and Scholarship Contest. This program is part of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution and honors an outstanding senior in our region that demonstrates qualities of a good citizen. One senior from each area school is invited to participate and apply. Kaitlyn was nominated by staff at ACS because of her dependability, service, and leadership. The district is giving away COVID-19 rapid tests to families. Tests will be distributed drive-through format outside the auditorium doors Wednesday, March 23rd from 7:30 to 8:15 am and 2:45 to 3:15 pm.

ACC’s admissions, nursing program, student success and tutoring center, and more is housed at Van Lare Hall. Last week 9th and 10th graders got to see the nursing program firsthand and test their skills in the nursing labs where they got to listen to the lungs and check the heart rate on a nursing simulation mannequin. Grace will be graduating this year with her high school diploma, Michigan Early/Middle College Association Technical Certificate, and her Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA). Grace plans to attend Ferris State University in the fall. Through Early College students have the option to work towards their MTA, which allows them to complete general education courses at ACC so when they transfer to a participating 4 year college/university they have all their general education requirements complete! As Michigan students return to school for a new year, access to affordable and reliable internet access is vital for their success. The Michigan Department of Education recently shared information about the emergency broadband benefit (EBB) program; which allows eligible households to enroll in an EBB discount of up to $50 per month towards broadband service. Eligible households can also receive a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating providers if they contribute more than $10 and less than $50 towards the purchase price.
