As we gear up for homecoming next week here are some important reminders: The Varsity Homecoming Football Game vs. Rogers City kicks-off at 7pm on Friday, October 18. Everyone is invited to cheer on our Tigers! The presentation of the Homecoming court and crowning of the King and Queen will take place during the half-time show at the Football Game. The 9th-12th grade Homecoming Dance will begin immediately following the football game and will end at midnight. The cost to attend the dance is $8 per person, concessions sold separately. Students must enter and exit through the main entrance of the high school. Students leaving the dance early must sign out and will not be permitted to re-enter the dance.

The district was alerted this evening by local law enforcement about a threat online against the school. After quick action and an investigation, a suspect is now in custody and the threat has been deemed not credible. School will be held as scheduled tomorrow and we are working with the Alcona County Sheriff's Office on the case. and next steps.

Alcona Cross Country competed in the NSL Finals today in Oscoda. Darren Boyat placed 8th with a time of 18:58, while Cole Upper finished 10th with a time of 19:58. Darren earned a second-team placement. Great job, boys! Our next meet is the Freeland Invitational on Saturday, October 12th.
Alcona NHS hosted a spooktacular Coffee for Veterans event this weekend. Our group service project is to give back to our local veterans by hosting monthly activities where veterans and their family can gather, chat, enjoy some goodies, learn more about opportunities, and win some prizes. Encourage a veteran you know to join us the first Sunday of every month from 2 to 4 pm in the Alcona High School auditorium lobby.
