The Alcona School Success Program is partnering with St. Vincent de Paul - Mikado to bring holiday baskets to families in need this holiday season. Our goal is to spread holiday cheer and support every household in our community. Hello Alcona Elementary families! We are sad to share, but we need to cancel Math Night scheduled for this Tuesday (10/29/24). Please be on the lookout for a future Math night event.

Alcona Cross Country competed at the Regionals today in East Jordan. Cole Upper set a season record with an impressive time of 17:22.16, while Darren Boyat achieved a personal best of 18:00.3. Cole finished 14th, and Darren placed 18th out of 74 runners. Both boys put forth an incredible effort, making this a truly impressive and proud moment for us all. Excitingly, Cole will advance to the state competition on Saturday, November 2, at the Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, MI.

Did you know charcuterie boards originated in France? Last week our French students did some taste testing and tried a charcuterie tray in Ms. Fritz-Wilson's class.

Alcona Football will be placing a playoff gear order on Sunday October 27th. The image below includes the front design and a back printed roster if selected. The team will be getting tshirts, but we are opening up the orders to family and friends if anyone would like some gear. An order form will go home with varsity players. Others can request a form to print and return from somersr@alconaschools.net, or you can pick one up in the high school office. Please note payments and forms are due by Sunday Oct 27th and we need cash or check only.
