🌱✨ Exciting news from Harrisville Harbor! Alcona High School students, in collaboration with Michigan State University Extension and local partners, have transformed a struggling rain garden into a thriving green space. This innovative project, aimed at reducing stormwater runoff into Lake Huron, showcases the power of community and student engagement. After facing challenges with invasive weeds and water management, the students' hard work has paid off, successfully capturing runoff and promoting biodiversity. Kudos to everyone involved in making Harrisville Harbor a greener place! Shako Fundraiser!!!
$5/shako or $10/3 shakos
The band room has too many hats. These shakos were part of the original Alcona Marching Band uniform from back in the day! Since we have newer uniforms these old shakos are taking up too much space. Sizes available are S,M,L,XL. Plumes not included.
Cash or check. Checks can be made out to Alcona Community Schools. You may reserve a shako by emailing me at pendergrasse@alconaschools.net or by simply replying to this post. I can send them home with students or they may be picked up in the band room after school next Monday. I can also leave them in the main office if you need an arranged day/time for pick up.
All proceeds from this sale will go toward the purchase of new marching band shoes as ours are quite old and rugged!

Huge thank you to Lost Lake Woods Club for hosting our Golf Regional today! Special Congratulations to Giovani Paluch for qualifying for the D4 State Golf Tournament! He will compete June 7-8 at Grand Valley State University!
